popping your pimples is a good thing? so i heard that popping your pimples is bad because it spreads the bacteria around and it leaves scaring. i have little pimples all over my forehead and it never goes away.(milia?) When i wash my face i can feel all the bumps on my forehead! My mom beleives the only way i can get rid of those is to pop all of them. She said that THE BUMP INSIDE THE PIMPLE WILL NEVER GO AWAY BC THERE NO PLACE FOR THEM TO GO BUT OUT. THE ONLY WAY FOR IT TO GO AWAY IS TO EXTRACT IT OUT. So after i steamed my face she helped popped all the pimples on my forehead with a pimple extractor. my face was red ALL over but after a couple days my forehead did look a lot better and there were no bumps. I would love to tell every one what has acne to never pop their pimples
as i found out the hard way everyday i would pop my pimples because
i was so embarrassed how i looked but now i cant even go out without a long
sleeve tshirt because my arms have scares all over them and my arms are red
and purple its not fun and i wish i had someone to tell me this is what would happen.

is it bad to pop pimples with an extractor?PLEASE HELP!? I always use a metal extractor from sephora but I do it carefully usually putting hot water on it first, I also scar very easily. I kind of have to use it because I get whiteheads a lot that are very noticable. Is it a bad idea to use this?

Do I have a pimple or cyst? I don't know if cysts can form on the face or not, but I have this pimple that came out of nowhere that's right on the entrance of my nostril. At first the whitehead formed pretty quickly, but it was small. I squeezed it a little tiny bit with one of those pimple extractors and just a little bit of pus or watery stuff came out. The white head is gone and now the pimple looks really shiny and kinda firm. I'm scared because I don't want a cyst, and this pimple is really in a bad place, and it kinda hurts. Can anyone tell me what it is, and what I should do about it? Thank you!

Should I extract an infected pimple? And also blackheads? I really don't know what to do. Should I just leave them? Im just afraid that when I pop it incorrectly, it would just make things worse. I spot treat using benzoyl, btw. And should I also extract blackheads? I regularly get them and I have a blackhead extractor at home. I make sure that the blackhead is really lifted on the skin and not the ones that are still down there.

please help me purple spots on face!!!!!!!!!!!? i have acne and it isnt that bad but i just noticed something. i use the proactiv refining mask and i use those pimple extractor that they use when u get a facial and i use facewashes and toners and everything but after i get rid of a pimple i noticed that they live like a purple stain in the place where the pimple was is ths normal should i go to the dermatologist would it go away? This is normal. It is one of two things. Its either blood pooled under the skin from pinching and poking at it or a pigment change in the skin and both of these will fade in time. I would suggest not using the extractor it takes many years of practice to master and not all blemishes should be extracted. Go see a dermatologist. They can help you with your skin issues and that pro active mask works really well as a spot treatment. Put some on a blemish and leave it on over night.RN

Popped a pimple...still won't go away? I had a very weird, random break out. I got a pimple, next to each nostril, on both sides of nose. One slightly smaller, but stil, not a cute look! Both of which I am guilty of picking at with a white head extractor. I've been using face wash, toner, benzoyl peroxide spot treatment, and tea tree oil. Some nights I leave on this 3% sulphur acne mask, just a dot on each zit. While they have shrunken alot and are no longer sore or red really, they remain as dry bumps! It's been like this for 3 days, they just don't go down or peel or anything! Is there anything I can do to get rid of them? Hmm not a scab, like the little one is really small at this point, the center is like a red pin prick sized dot (where I popped it), however it's raised around it that's where I'm confused. The other is all dry skin, not a scab at all. I also don't really have acne...this is the first big break out I've had in like two years and it's just two pimples. The rest of my face is all clear. Don't mess with them anymore. I think the dry bumps are scabs and will fall off when the spot is healed completely. Good luck!

Deep, blind pimple...? I have this giant blind pimple in the crease where your cheek meets your chin. Its been there for MONTHS like maybe 6 months and is massive. (1/2 cm diameter, round) its hard and shows no signs of going away or coming to a head. I'm really tempted to steralise the little pointy thing on the end of the backhead extractor and poke it into it and then squeeze out all the pus cos I can feel this massive well of pus in there and its red and round and shiny but not at the surface. How good/bad of an idea is this? lol. Ill steralise the stick and then use benzyl peroxide 10% cream on it after to stop infection thanks Ha no one answered (in time) so i did it anyway. it totally worked! its like a ball of pus had been waiting for me to free it from its subcutaneous prison. lol. how fun. This does not sound normal. I would show this to your doctor. I know skin specialist will tell you not to squeeze them etc, etc, but we all know that most of us do squeeze them or find a way to get the fluid out. However, the one you are describing draws the line and I would have it looked at and that is because it might be more than just a giant pimple. My opinion.

Can you have a pimple in your nose? I was wondering because sometimes i get oil clots so i thought it coulda been one of those. it is on the bottom of my nose hole. i used an extractor and puss or white stuff came out. so can you get them? Yes u can and they are painful

she has tiny pimple in the pore and the extractor does not remove them as i push they are just below the skin? These are not white heads as it is softer and in each pore, as you push with the loop of the exctractor the white head will try and come out of the pore but is stuck under a thin layer of skin. how do i remove these or what is the cause Welcome to the world of Cystic Acne!

they can prescribe some pretty useful stuff.

how to get rid of a under skin pimple.? I have 3 under the skin pimples. they were really light in color but getting fairly large and painful. unfortunatley I thought it would be a good idea to use my pimple extractor on them, but nothing came out so I think I just worsened the problem. I toned my face directly after and now have a facial mask on for problematic skin i plan on putting some 5% benzoyl on them but I don't think it will help much, what can you suggest to make them go away quick and reduce redness/inflamation?? Cystic pimples are the kind you can't do anything about. They might surface in a few days and then you can try to pop them but before that just leave them be. The more you "fondle" them the more painful and red they become. Cover with makeup if they bother you and keep skin moisturized because otherwise the skin on top will start to peel of ( that's what happens to me sometimes). They will go away in 3-9 days approx.
